Created attachment 373821 [details] Screen shot of referenced dialog When I open my .gnucash file on Windows 10 and then do a "Save-As" to MySQL the original file remains locked. When I attempt to open the .gnucash file after the save-as I gen the "GnuCash could not obtain the lock for ..." dialog box. The work-around is simple. I simple click the "Open Anyway" button on the dialog. This is low priority, IMO. I use mysql as a backup and for data analytics. So I run into this only a couple times a month.
Hello, I have the same bug and same solution as the user above, but on mac using Version: 4.1 Build ID: 4.1+(2020-07-25) gnucash could not obtain the lock for file.gnucash. The database may be in use by another user etc Thanks

(In reply to John from comment #2) > Created attachment 373878 [details] > Bug flow Screenshot I think you put that on the wrong bug, doesn't it belong to bug 797959?
Indeed! So sorry. It is I that is "buggy". I do not see a way to remove it here. Thanks for all your work on this program John Ralls.

I guess only admins can delete.
