This bug report is to tie recent discussion in the GnuCash User maillist together with a request for a new tool tip to read similar to "Every transaction has a "Notes" field where you can put useful information. To make it visible select "View" in the menu bar and check "Double Line"; or check "Double Line Mode" in Preferences:Register Defaults"

as suggested there by Fred Bone

Clarification:  This request is intended to add another program tip to the tips database for the pop-up that can appear when the program starts. Flyover tip in the menubar would be a separate issue.
