GUI feature request (as of now: gnucash-3.7-2019-11-03-git-3.7-190-g491088b2f+.setup.exe): Please add in the ACCOUNTS view the option to add a check box column for the account hidden flag - like, e.g., the placeholder account flag. This helps configure the chart of accounts more quickly (see bug 796532, comment 5 for use case). As of now I can see only one way in the GUI to change the account hidden flag: open the config wizard for each account with hidden flag to be changed which is a bit tedious. Many thanks.
I do not think that would work as the account would be hidden so will not show in the tree any way. Why not use Edit->'Find Account' ?
Adding to my previous reply, I would assume you would change the View->'Filter By' to see hidden accounts, do what ever and then maybe change the view back. The suggestion above does not change the filter but temporarily allows you to see a hidden account in the normal account tree.
(In reply to Bob from comment #1) > I do not think that would work as the account would be hidden so will not > show in the tree any way. Why not use Edit->'Find Account' ? The approach you are suggesting will not work for my use case to reduce the account drop down list in a register/account view (as opposed to the accounts view a filter can be applied to). Accounts with hidden flag and placeholder flag *permanently* set to TRUE are not shown in the drop down account list in a register/account view (cf. bug 796532, comment 5). The request aims at making the user's life easier when configuring accounts in the accounts view, when, e.g., the columns for the hidden and the placeholder flag - the latter is implemented as of now - can be shown in the accounts view. Thanks.
Added to accounts page and will be in version 4.0
