Screenshot showing attempt to Save As in path with spaces

Windows 7 Home Premium SP1
GnuCash 3.3+

If my .gnucash files are in a path that contains no spaces
(example: C:\Users\Myname\desktop\gctest\test.gnucash)
Save As works properly
BUT
If my .gnucash files are in a path that contains spaces
(example: C:\Users\Myname\desktop\gctest with spaces\test.gnucash)
Save As does not work. GnuCash displays an error message:

------------
You attempted to save in <something>\Users\<myname>\AppData\Roaming\GnuCash
or a subdirectory thereof. This is not allowed as GnuCash reserves
that directory for internal use.

Please try again in a different directory.

GC 3.3 (not 2.6 as in original submission). Sorry!
Comment 2 Matt Forbis 2019-11-16 15:23:00 EST
This seems to be working in Gnucash 3.7 on my machine as I can do a saveas to C:\Users\mdforbis\Desktop\gnucash data files\filename.gnucash with no issue. Please try a later version of Gnucash and see if this has been resolved.

Thanks!

Hi Nick, does your problem still exist with a current GnuCash version?
Comment 4 Chris Good 2020-05-25 02:37:59 EDT
Matt Forbis,
This is reported to be working in a version 3.7.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug. However, you are using a version that is too old and not supported anymore. The GnuCash developers are no longer working on that version, so either this bug has already been fixed or unfortunately there will not be any bug fixes for the version that you use. The current stable version of GnuCash is 3.10.

In the (hopefully unlikely) case you discover the same bug in the very latest stable version, do not hesitate to REOPEN it again. Also, feel free to file other bugs or enhancement requests that you find. Thank you very much!
