In the Advanced Portfolio report, there are some columns using the word "rate", which means change in value over time, which is similar or synonymous with "annual".

Rate of Return, on the far right, appears to be calculated using Total Return divided by Money In.  There is no time component whatsoever.  This column could be named Return, % Return, Return on Investment, or Return on Money.  I would never call this number a Rate of Return.
