Description Robert Chapin 2018-11-09 08:08:03 EST
When GnuCash auto-fills a new transaction, I find it very frustrating that it always adds multiple splits when it finds them. This is helpful about 50% of the time, and quite painful the other 50% because I then have to manually delete the unwanted splits.

Could y'all please think up a way to make this aspect of data entry more efficient or faster for the user?

Many users (including me) enjoy that when they start typing "Payslip" it autofills with the payslip components eg super/tax/gross. Why remove this feature?

You can always remove the autofill text thereby directing GnuCash to NOT autofill.

Hi Christopher,

I've said nothing about removing the autofill feature. Please read the ticket more carefully. I want to be able to disable or undo unwanted split entries.

This ticket still needs a better response. The only known workaround is to write a unique description for every transaction, which is far more work than I'm willing to invest in this.

Making it an enhancement request.

The response to enhancement requests is "Pull request welcome". The likelihood that anyone other than you is interested in this is very small.
