This report is an interesting example of a multicolumn report, but it could easily be modified to serve as a "dashboard" for a GnuCash file with a little simple modification. Specifically:

1) Remove the Welcome to GnuCash! report at the top.
2) Move the Account Summary report to the bottom.
3) Rename the report "Dashboard"

I believe that these changes would more clearly indicate to users what purpose this report could serve, and might see more use as a result.
