Description ron regan 2010-07-12 11:49:28 EDT
First, thanks for adding the total columns - that's exactly what I wanted.

Bug: when choosing option "rollup to parent" it doesnt matter whether its checked or not - it always rolls up.

Bug: I have a parent "Admin" under the "Expense" parent. The subaccounts dont rollup up to the Admin parent. I have two other parents in the Expense section and they rollup correctly.

Not bugs, suggestions
Subtotals would be preferable to rollin up to the parents.

When printing dollar amounts, it isnt necessary, and in some cases, not desirable to print the $. I have a minor problem: I am cutting the generated budget report and pasting it into Excel or Works to reformat before printing.
Excel handles the credit amounts ok - $(40.00) but Works treats it like a text field. I have to first paste the report into wordpad, replace all of the $ with nothing, then cut and paste that into Works. Then I need to reformat (remove the totals from the parents, add subtotals) before finally printing.

If you could have the same options on the income statement on the budget report (as well as the total column) that would be great.

I need to create a report each month that shows the current month actuals, budget and variance as well as YTD actuals, budget and variance.

thanks

Err... I'm sorry, these are too many different items in one bugzilla report. Which ones are bugs? Can you maybe attach a simple example gnucash file and explain exactly what you expect and what is shown instead?

As for the suggestions: I'm afraid the currency symbol will always be kept because your book might contain multiple currencies.

I don't understand your sentence about "the same options on the income statement on the budget report". If this is an enhancement request, please file this as a separate bugzilla item with an appropriate title so that we know what this is about. Thanks a lot!

Sorry.

The first bug (parent acct rollup): there is an option to show or not show subtotals in the parent account. Whether the option is checked or unchecked, the rollup amount is always showing. On the attached report, I had checked "do not show option" but the amounts are showing for the Income line, which is the parent.

also in the expense section, its rollup up to the parent "expense".

The second bug, looking in the expense section, the "administrative" has the subaccounts rolling up for Actuals and Diff, but not the Budget.

Thanks, I'll file the suggestions under enhancement requests.
